Litchfield is an unincorporated community in central Litchfield Township, Medina County. It is at the junction of State Routes 83 and 18, nine miles northwest of the city of Medina.[1]
The junction of State Routes 83 and 18 is the center of business activity in Litchfield. To the northeast sits the United States Post Office (ZIP Code 44253), Litchfield Auto Body, and the Hungry Bear Restaurant. On the southeast end is the Town Hall, and the Litchfield Historical Society and Museum. Southwest of the circle is the United Church of Christ Congregational, Tonio's Pizza, Old Schoolhouse Catering, Glenn's Welding, and Play 'n Grow Child Care. Litchfield Radio, Subway, A Scoop on the Circle (an ice cream shop), Heberlein's General Store, and Whitehead Meats lie northwest of the circle. The main attraction of the Litchfield circle is a white gazebo, where in the summer. the Litchfield Town Band conducts concerts and various organizations hold ice cream socials. In the winter, a Christmas tree is placed in the gazebo and decorated.
This town is part of the Buckeye Local School District.
